A simple technique to find time for sewing (or anything!)

How to find time for sewing

One of the most common costume making problems I hear from Sparkly Belly readers is actually not related to costume making at all. It’s about finding time to sew.

When I share my costume tutorials, I often get comments like, “I love this! But first I have to find time to sew….” The other day, I saw a FB discussion about what costume people were working on and someone said, “I am working on not feeling guilty about wanting to sew. Sigh.”

For most of us, costume making is not a full-time job. It’s more of a hobby, but often a pretty serious hobby. Or it’s something that accompanies your series hobby, which is dancing.

But costume making takes time. Often when we are working on a project, it’s not a 2-hour project. It’s more of a project you don’t want to count how much time you’re spending on because it takes hours and hours.

So, many people are afraid to spend that much time on creating one single costume. And they are afraid to make costumes… even though it’s such a fun and empowering experience! 🙁

So today in this video, you’ll see my technique for finding time for sewing. It’s really simple!
