I would love to win one of these but I have no idea how to link a picture to this reply. I will try one more thing before I give up.

    Love this one! http://www.ropadanzadelvientre.com/chloes-exclusive-costumes/chloe-exclusive-costume-202

Do you have a tutorial for a swirly hem skirt or multi tiered skirt with the ruffles?

Mao, I love the way you teach. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. This is my favorite costume… http://www.sparklybelly.com/princess-jasmine-sleeves/

My favourite costume would have to have been my own holiday costume that I made last year, which I wouldn’t have not been able to do if it wasn’t for Mao’s tutorials on how to adjust straps, bras & belts, how to make a mermaid skirt, etc 😉 Alia’s Silver Costume.jpg on Alia Bellydance (Facebook)

https://learn.adafruit.com/sparkle-skirt This isn’t a belly dance costume but it was the inspiration for one. Due to time & money constraints ( I had to make 2 costumes!) I used regular Christmas tree lights instead of the ADAFruit leds.

Maybe because I have a lot of modern assuit fabric I’ve collected in order to make an assuit costume? Haven’t done it yet because I’m scared to cut the fabric. 😛 So shiny!!

I have no pics yet have been getting fabric to work on your belly dancing skirt. I am wheelchair bound and the skirt would work great to still feel like a lady. These triangle chalk Markers look like they would be perfect for me. hint hint my birthday is right around the corner and will be sharing what I was able to make for it

I love how this one has the big jewels all lucious and bold. I’m tall so this is something I would love to make one day.

Mao thank you for sharing your expertise. I’m hoping to join your premium course soon. I’m so excited to start making my first costume for my daughter. I love the swirly belt and applique teaser and the DIY belly dance bra.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/222277029295 Why I need sewing skills. I flipped over Indian fashion, but they don’t sew. One company offered free stitching, but when I gave my measurements, they sent everything like a second skin, to be let out. Hard to communicate. But this is a whole set of skirt, pants, top, vest.

I think this is the most beautiful costume out there. It’s sooooooo elegant. Specially the over the shoulder beaded sleeve. It looks really sturdy, and that’s something i’ve been trying to achieve on my own costumes. Besides, the beaded sleeve and the matching choker gives the whole set something that stands out from other fully beaded costumes. I don’t know how confortable it would be to dance in it, but it definitely is gorgeous!

My most helpful costume tips are: Mao’s tutorial on making a dance bra, and the instructions on how to make harem pants and circle skirts from Shira.net. I’m on dial-up and can’t access them to leave a link right now, but they are easy to find! Denise

http://www.sparklybelly.com/diy-circle-skirt-reversible/ … So far, this is my favorite. Because it is SO versatile, I can simply change out the belt and top, and have a new costume, without the stress of making a completely new one. I love SparklyBelly.com, simply because you have taken the time to show those of us that do not know how to sew … a way to learn, to create a costume, and be proud of our accomplishment. Plus, you give your ideas/patterns to us so generously, and your quick personal responses are encouraging. Thank You!
.. A pic of my Reversible Skirt via email will follow, as I can’t see how to attach it.

  36. November 14, 2016 at 1:50 pm

I don’t know how to attach pictures but I love to bellydance even though I’m over 50 🙂 I love your ideas and how to make our own costumes. Thanks for all your ideas and for thinking of us when you’re on holiday.
