Christmas has passed, and it’s the end of the year.
How was your 2016?
My 2016 was lots of learning and meeting new people online and in person. I learned many little sewing techniques while making Sparkly Belly tutorials, and I also took a business program this year. I launched new ebook, Belly Dancer in Business, and new course, Swirly Belt & Appliques.
On a more personal side, Navid and I moved to a new apartment (guess what – we’re moving again next month! But this time we’re moving to our own place! 😀 ), and we also went on business & personal trips to Victoria, Calgary, and New York, and a completely personal trip to Japan. And we met lots of great people in all these places.
I feel so fortunate to have had a year like this. And I want to thank you for your love and support for my work, no matter where you are or how often you and I communicate with each other. It means a lot to me that you’re reading this, and thanks to readers like you, I can continue doing my work that I love. 🙂
Okay, enough of my story! Today I want to share with you some of gorgeous creations by Sparkly Belly readers 😀
I LOVE seeing how everyone takes my DIY tutorials and completely make them into their own creations. I just love seeing it so much, I don’t have words to explain this excitement. It’s really inspiring.
So here we go! You can find relevant tutorials under the photos 🙂
Sparkly Belly Costume Showcase 2016
This beautiful holiday costume was made by Lisa. I love the balance of colours and Celtic theme! I also like how the top tastefully offers coverage 🙂
This gorgeous burgundy costume was crafted by Miriam! Her lovely taste shows through the placements of the lace appliques and pearls, doesn’t it! Simple and very elegant.
She based the skirt construction on my Mermaid Skirt tutorial.
Denise created the beautiful and sparkly bra & belt set in above photos! Red and gold are a classic colour combination that looks great on many people, and I think this costume looks perfect for her! I love the generous amount of beaded swags all over the bra and belt 😀
And finally, all of the above 3 amazing costumes were made by Dary! Don’t you just love the fabrics and colours that she picked? 😀 And all of them fit her perfectly, which give the costumes custom-made looks. Super gorgeous, all of them, and her gorgeous personality shines in these beauties!
Here are relevant tutorials 🙂
Hope you enjoyed and got inspired by these lovely creations! A BIG thank you to Lisa, Miriam, Denise and Dary for sharing your love and passion with us 😀
