Have a look inside the Bellydance Bundle 2019!

Bellydance Bundle 2019 inside

As you probably know, the Bellydance Bundle 2019 sale went live a couple of days ago, and I’m so excited to see lots of people are reporting on social media that they’ve already joined! 🙂

This year’s Bellydance Bundle is really AMAZING – it comes with 22 online courses by belly dance instructors with various various expertise! And the instructor list is STAR-STUDDED!

Then I wondered, “Would I buy this year’s Bundle IF I wasn’t one of the contributors? Wouldn’t I want to know a bit more about what’s on the INSIDE before taking out my credit card??”

So when I got my copy, I went in and took a look right away, so I can report back to you! 😀

As you can imagine, there’s SO MUCH content in it, so I cannot give a full review on each course included in it, but let me show you a little bit of what’s inside, so if you’re still on the border about whether to join this year, this post will help you make a decision!

The Brand NEW Redemption Central

When there are 22 different courses to redeem and they’re on various platforms, it can be challenging to redeem them all, and keep track of which ones you have redeemed and which ones you haven’t.

Well, Tiffany, the amazing lady behind the Bellydance Bundle, heard you and created a brand new, more user-friendly redemption central! 😀

Once you purchase the Bundle, you’re taken to the redemption page, and they have a nice tutorial right there that walks you through how to use it!

This is what it looks like on the inside 🙂

Bellydance Bundle redemption tutorial

It’s super easy to see how to redeem a course, and what I LOVE about this year’s redemption page, is that once you redeem a course, the redemption instruction is replaced by login instruction so you won’t waste your time looking for the login information when you come back a few days or a couple of months later!

You can also SORT courses by redeemed or unredeemed as well!

Yay for organization! 😀

Okay, let’s take a look at some of the courses!!

The Bellydance Bundle 2019 Courses

So first, let me tell you about my course for this year’s Bundle:

Make Your Dream Costume: Ultimate Beginner Belly Dance Costumer Crash Course

Sparkly Belly Bellydance Bundle 2019

Always wanted to try making your own costumes?

But can’t sew or not sure where to start?

In this crash course (from Modules 1-3 of my flagship program Belly Dance Costume Workshop), you’ll learn everything you need to know to start sewing your own belly dance costumes!

Specifically, you’ll learn how to sew by hand and use a sewing machine, how to handle those tricky dancewear fabrics, and how to plan projects so your costume making journey is stress-free!

Even if you’ve NEVER sewn before, after taking this crash course, you’ll be able to confidently tackle any of my DIY costume tutorials, and make your very own costumes!

PLUS I’ve included a 30% off coupon code for my DIY Applique Kit store! Learn how to sew, and practice your sewing skills on applique making! 🙂

Okay, so after my own course 😉 , I checked out these 3 courses from the Bundle!

Khaleeji Inspired Drum Solo by Sahira

Sahira2019 bellydance bundle

You saw last week’s guest post by Sahira… did you see the videos in the post? She’s so fun, beautiful, and entertaining 🙂

So I had to check out her course first! And this Khaleeji inspired drum solo is super cute, relaxed and exciting! I haven’t gone through every lesson yet, but it’s already a fun choreo to learn!!

How do I know this without going through the lessons?

Well, when I take a choreography course, I ALWAYS skip ahead and watch the entire performance FIRST! hehe

So this one was no exception. I had not seen many Khaleeji drum solo before, so I had to see what it looks like!

It’s really fun, and you’ll learn a bunch of great layering and techniques. She includes a video where she’s performing in this super cute ruffly dress, but I can see a dancer performs this in a thobe or a bedlah. You can make it cheeky or you can keep it cool. It’s a great drum solo!

And of course, Sahira breaks all the movements into bite-size pieces, so it’s really easy to follow! Her bubbly personality keeps you entertained throughout the lessons. The video and sound qualities are both perfect 🙂

Next, I checked out this one 🙂

Achieve Your Dance Goals by Victoria Teel

Well, I’ve always been a huge fan of Victoria’s costuming as well as her beautiful dance! But particularly, I’ve noticed her costumes always feature layers of textures like dramatic ruffles and fluid silky skirts and she highlights them in her performances. I just seem to really like her aesthetics.

So as you can imagine, I had spent a lot of time on her YouTube channel admiring her performances, but never heard her talk. So I wanted to check this course out!

I looked over the first couple of classes, and my impression is – first, this course is definitely for serious belly dancers who are not sure how to plan out their practice and where to go from here. Victoria helps you put those fuzzy dance dreams and fluffy ideas into words, so you can see exactly what you’re working towards.

I actually wished I had this type of guidance several years ago when I was really confused about what I wanted from belly dance – should I continue being a serious hobby dancer or should I explore a career path as a belly dancer? If so, what do I need to work on?

So in Victoria’s course, you’ll give yourself an opportunity to sit down and actually think about it, dream about it, and make plans for your dreams. And by Class 2, you’ll have realistic plans to achieve small wins in your practice so that they’ll keep fueling you to pursue your goals.

I thought the process of figuring out all these things was VERY thorough, and she does it with you step by step, so you don’t feel left alone. It’s definitely hard work, and I find this kind of exercises take a lot of mental energy…. but the benefits you get from them are IMMENSE, and I feel all serious dancers should do this from time to time.

Actually, I have a module called “Make Your Dream Costume Come True” in my Bellydance Bundle course I mentioned earlier, and the process is quite similar! In it, you’ll first sketch your dream costume and then break it down into various components and tasks, so you’ll know exactly what you need to do to make your dream costume come true. How amazing that you can do some good planning for your dance AND costume dreams in this year’s Bundle!! 😀

Victoria has another course on technique practice, so I’m going to have to check it out next time!

And last but not least, I decided to check out this one:

Egyptian Ethnic Costume Seminar by Shahira Mehrez, by Keti Sharif

YES! This year’s Bundle has another course on costuming!! 😀

While my course is about making of costumes, this presentation by Shahira Mehrez is on women’s clothing traditions in different areas of Egypt – a topic that I’d really love to deepen my knowledge on!

In case you’re confused about the two names associated with this seminar like I was at first, Shahira Mehrez is an ethnologist, researcher and presenter of the seminar at the Sphinx Festival in 2010, which was directed by Keti Sharif.

First, I wish I was sitting right there at the seminar! It was held in such a cozy-looking, private setting. As soon as the video started, I had to pause it and go make myself a cup of tea. I KNEW it was going to be GOOD! 🙂

You see? 🙂

Shahira’s talk was like touring through Egypt, covering Nubia, Upper Egypt, Middle Egypt, Delta region, Oasis and Dessert regions. But, even if we were able to tour around Egypt like this, we wouldn’t be able to see the respective regions’ traditional clothes today, because many of them are no longer produced. So I felt so privileged to be able to see this rare collection.

It’s super cool that all the costumes are worn by models, so you can see how they looked on real humans, what jewelries were worn with the costumes and how they would move around in them.

It was really surprising to see how different each costume was from various regions, and what amazed me even more was that some costumes as I know them today used to be very different. For example, those really colorful and ruffly costumes which I know to be Nubian costumes today… they were sheer black dresses with long train and rather simple back around the early 20th century! And what they used to wear before these black dresses… well, Shahira will tell you in the seminar, but it was hard to believe! 😀

Really, the entire seminar was like watching a fashion show but better. Each costume was really unique and different, and they’re all accompanied by the historical and cultural background stories. It’s a perfect seminar to watch in between dance practices or when you feel like curling up on the couch and watching something really good 🙂

So those are only 4 of 22 courses included in this year’s Bundle, and I’m really excited to dive into more in coming months!!!

Here are what other dancers said about the Bellydance Bundle

“The Bellydance Bundle is an opportunity to try classes/workshops with many teachers, which enables you to expand your dance horizon. I would get stuck only practicing routines for shows – this enabled me to practice for improvement by giving me something new every day if I wanted. There is a lot to be gained from the bundle. It helped me out of a practice slump. – Charlotte

“The Bundle was a great way to get a lot of useful information on a lot of different facets of the dance. I also enjoyed the way it created a broader sense of dance community, beyond my local ‘scene.’ I will definitely participate as a purchaser again!” – Chani

Best Bang for the buck. Good for any level. Introduced me to different artists and perspectives. Dance enhancing. Life enhancing. Delivered Inspiration and sheer joy, some sweat , some laughs, and endless hours of fun and learning. Contributors : You were ALL so wonderful! Special shout out to Karen Barbee, self proclaimed countaholic, for her most generous contribution. Also, it was wonderful to see the next generation of dancers with their clear analysis and knowledge of anatomy! I feel sorry for anybody who did not get on this boat last year, but am thrilled to see that we all have another chance and another year of BELLYDANCEBUNDLE!!!!!” – Kareena

Just spending a few hours poking through different courses was super fun, and already benefiting me. 😀
