A Sneak Peek at the Belly Dance Costume Workshop

Want to finally learn how to sew?

And make your own costumes?

And save money?

If you said yes to any of the above, you are in the right place! 🙂

The #1 Costume Challenge

I’ve been sharing my DIY belly dance costume tutorials for a while now, and during this time, I have been fortunate enough to get to know many dancers around the world and hear about their costume challenges.

Do you know what the #1 costume challenge is?

The #1 costume challenge I’ve heard so far is that they cannot find a costume that fits them.

Being a petite dancer, I had the same challenge too, and so I started making my own costumes (and realized I loved doing it :D).

So I’m sharing my tutorials now, and I see comments like this:

“Oh this looks so nice. I wish I knew how to sew!”

That makes me think,

“And you can learn it too, very easily!”

Nowadays, sewing is not an essential skill to have, and in fact there are many ready-made costumes. So it’s not your fault that you don’t know how to sew. But dance costumes, especially belly dance costumes, must fit you well in order to showcase the subtle movements and feelings AND more importantly, to feel comfortable and feel good about yourself. 🙂

So to me (and many dancers who know how to sew), sewing IS an essential skill.

Here’s a Secret…

Like I said earlier, sewing can be learned easily. BUT sewing CAN be intimidating, because there are so many genres in the art of sewing (much like dance!), and even if you take sewing lessons at a local craft store and learn how to make a regular skirt, for example, it may not apply to making a belly dance skirt.

In fact, the types of fabric used in dance costumes are quite tricky to work with if you don’t know how they behave.

So the easiest way to start making belly dance costumes is to learn how to sew USING the types of fabric that are actually used to make belly dance costumes and actually create basic pieces of belly dance costumes.

You learn how to sew, and you learn to make belly dance costumes at the same time. You hit 2 birds in 1 stone. 🙂

Here’s where you can do that 🙂

So in the upcoming Belly Dance Costume Workshop (BDCW), you can do exactly that.

By taking BDCW, you’ll be able to…

  • Make costumes that fit you
  • Save hundreds of dollars in the future
  • Feel confident and beautiful on stage

I started developing the content of BDCW back in May. Back then, I offered an Early Bird Package to Sparkly Belly newsletter subscribers and Facebook group members. And over the last few months, I asked the dancers who purchased the Early Bird Package what they wanted to learn in BDCW, and with their feedback, I wrote and recorded this entire workshop based on my research and experience.

So more specifically, in BDCW, you’ll learn…

> How to sew by hand & use a sewing machine

> How to handle types of fabric used in belly dance costumes like chiffon, satin and stretch lycra/spandex

> How to make a bedlah bra base & cover it with fabric

> How to make a custom bedlah belt base that fits you well

> How to make a beautiful mermaid skirt with chiffon inserts

> How to decorate your costumes and apply beads, rhinestones & sequins

> How to properly take care of your costumes

Oh, and I’m so excited to share with you my biggest time-saving tips, professional finish tips, stress-free costume making tips, and more! 🙂

Shhh…. Take a sneak peek at the Workshop here!

Okay, now I’m so excited telling you about the workshop, and I have to share some snapshots from BDCW in development 😉
